1. Who we are
Verifund Technologies LLC ("Verifund," "we," "us") provides software for property managers, sponsors, and the investors who back them, tracking cash flow from rent collection through reserves and distributions. This policy applies to our website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
2. Information we collect
We collect information in three ways:
2.1 Information you provide
- Account information: name, email address, password, role (manager, sponsor, investor), and organization.
- Property and portfolio data: property names, units, tenants, leases, rent amounts, expenses, reserve balances and targets, and distribution records that you enter or upload.
- Communications: messages you send to support and any feedback you share.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Usage data: pages and screens viewed, features used, and timestamps — used to operate and improve the Service.
- Device and log data: IP address, device type, operating system, browser type, and crash diagnostics.
- Cookies and similar technologies: we use a minimal set of cookies to keep you signed in and remember preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
2.3 Mobile applications (iOS and Android)
When you use our iOS or Android app, additional information may be collected by the operating system or its native frameworks:
- Device identifiers and diagnostics: device model, OS version, app version, language, and crash diagnostics provided by Apple's and Google's standard reporting frameworks. We use these to debug issues and improve stability.
- Push notification tokens: if you enable notifications, we receive a device token from APNs (iOS) or FCM (Android) so we can deliver alerts you've opted into. You can revoke notifications at any time in your device settings.
- Permissions: any data access you grant (e.g., camera for uploading receipts, photo library for attachments) is used only for the feature you triggered and is not collected in the background.
- App stores: Apple and Google may share limited information about installs, purchases, and crash reports under their own privacy policies. We do not receive your App Store or Google Play password.
2.4 Information from third parties
If you choose to connect a third-party service (for example, a bank account aggregator or accounting tool), we receive the information that service shares with us under your authorization. We only request the data needed to provide the feature you're enabling.
3. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service;
- Display your portfolio, cash-flow, reserve, and distribution data to you and to the people you authorize (e.g., investors on a property you manage);
- Authenticate users, prevent fraud, and protect the Service;
- Respond to support requests and communicate about product changes;
- Improve features, reliability, and performance;
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your financial or property data to train advertising models.
4. How information is shared
We share information only in these circumstances:
- Within your workspace. Property and cash-flow data is visible to the people you grant access to — for example, investors authorized on a property see the same numbers as the manager.
- Service providers. We use trusted vendors for hosting, infrastructure, error monitoring, and email delivery. These vendors process data on our behalf under contractual obligations to protect it.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Verifund, our users, or others.
- Business transfers. If Verifund is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred — we'll notify you and continue to protect it under terms at least as protective as this policy.
5. Data retention
We retain account and portfolio information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. When you delete your account, we remove personal data within 30 days, except for records we are legally required to keep.
6. Security
We protect information using industry-standard safeguards, including TLS encryption in transit, encryption at rest, scoped access controls, and routine security review. No system is perfectly secure; if we ever learn of a breach affecting your data, we'll notify you as required by applicable law.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you;
- Object to or restrict certain processing;
- Receive a portable copy of your data;
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, email chasemcdonald@verifundsolutions.com from the address on your account. We respond within 30 days.
8. Children's privacy
The Service is intended for business users. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact chasemcdonald@verifundsolutions.com and we'll delete it.
9. International users
Verifund operates from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you understand your information will be processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.
